Patrol Division chief Ismael Aguon told reporters yesterday that graffiti that are made on both government and public properties have a negative impact on Palau’s tourism industry. Aguon said that they are now addressing the problem and have leads as to who is responsible for the graffiti on telephone and electrical posts, bridges and on posts along the causeways. “Once we have positive identification of those responsible, we will not hesitate to arrest them and cite them for malicious mischief. We are also asking the public if they know such information to give us a call,” Aguon said. On the other hand, Aguon once again stressed that the middle lane is for left turns only and not for passing. “Those who want to make a left turn may enter the middle lane and wait till the other lane is clear before they make a turn. This is to ease the traffic also, as a vehicle that wants to make a left turn may take the middle lane right away so as not to disrupt the flow of traffic in the other lane, especially during the day and peak hours after work,” Aguon stressed. For any violations noticed, the public is encouraged to call 488-5407 or Crime Stoppers at 488-8477.
