Welcome to Island Times

Launched on Nov. 4, 2005, Island Times has since undergone tremendous growth in its less than three full years of publication. Today, Island Times - which debuted as a weekly newspaper with just four employees - has a revamped look, employs about 20 staff, publishes twice a week and the circulation has more than doubled.

As a local paper, our main goal is to provide our readers with news and stories about local events. As you will see reflected in its pages, Island Times was envisioned to serve the information needs of those who live and work in Palau, as well as our citizens and friends overseas.

In addition to being found in almost every business and government office in the country, Island Times also enjoys a growing off island subscription base, sending dozens of copies to readers overseas, including the United States. And this past summer, Island Times went on line, ensuring that Palauans and other readers all over the world have access to news and information back home.

Island Times has assembled a very talented team of professionals, from writers to layout artists and printers in our continuing attempts to improve the quality of the newspaper. Island Times, which is already the most read local newspaper in Palau, has no other agenda except to provide you with the same quality stories and articles that you have come to expect of us.

As we look forward to the future, we want you to know that we will continue to strive and be dedicated to improving Island Times for your benefit. We will continue to bring the same accurate, informative, unbiased and uncensored stories to our readers, because that is the main reason why we publish Island Times.

Enjoy!
